Murder Mystery Home Games

Murder Mystery Home Games by Gareth Sammer
Our murder mystery games are probably much different to those you have played in the past, the first biggest difference is that ANY of the characters can be chosen by the host to be the murderer. With each different murderer, there is a different scenario surrounding them. Different secrets will emerge and characters who looked whiter than white in one game will suddenly look evil. This allows the same group of people to play these games over and over again without knowing who is going to be murdered, who the culprit is and what people are hiding. It is like playing a new game each time.

Another big difference is that there are Secret Tasks written in to each characters pack. These range from trying to get money to doing impressions to trying to deceive others and many more. Although the secret tasks may not help you solve the murder, they can and will add extra fun to your party.

One of the advantages of our games over others is that there is more of a choice about which characters you can leave out if you do not have the full amount of players. If the game is for 8 to 14 players and you only have 10 players, the host can choose any four characters from a list to leave out. You are not forced to a include characters in a certain order. More information on which characters can be left out can be found in the hosts information pack which accompanies each game.

A common question we get is "can the game host play as a character"?  I always recomend against it as the hosts job is to oversee proceedings and making sure the party goes to plan.  If they are getting too involved in their character they may forget to do something.  If the host really wishes to or needs to play a character though (e.g. if you are limited on the number of players you have), they can do so however I would recommend that they play the character who is going to be murdered.  This way, the host can play at the beginning part of the night but is then freed up later to be the host.

When you receive your CD, you will notice that all the files are in Microsoft word and JPEG files.  (If you would like alternatives, e.g. Microsoft Works, please email us before purchasing).  The first thing you need to do is read the "Read me first" Word file.  This will take you through how to set up each characters pack and the hosts information pack.  All other information that the hosts and characters need is in these packs.  If you have any questions either before or after purhcasing, just email us at enquiries@bigmontyproductions.co.uk and we will be more than happy to help you.
